Different Kinds of Love

Early morn, and pancake breakfast made,
Snuggles, and cuddles as daylight fade,
Kiss on the cuts, bruises, and boo-boos,
Nursing you when sick, from morning to noon.

That is my sister's kind of love.

Rough punches; landing too soft,
Picking you up, to reach aloft,
Dinner served of your favorite meals,
Always willing to make stupid deals.

That is my brother's kind of love.

Smiles, and hugs, even at night,
When I am scared, we are both in fright,
Laughing with me, instead of at,
Joking about being too fat.

That is my sister's kind of love.

Letting me paint, upon his face,
Letting me win in endless race,
Teaching me how to take the pain,
Teaching me how to make new gain.

That is my brother's kind of love.

Explaining books before I understood,
Listening to me, when no one could,
Giving tips, and advice for life,
Teaching me that I can be a wife.

That is my sister's kind of love.

Telling me to hide,
To keep me alive,
Keeping secrets for me,
Telling me that I am truly free.

That is my brother's kind of love.

Sweet faced lies,
Coming to my cries,
Being like a mother,
Even though it was for my brother.

That is my sister's kind of love.

Stabbing with a knife,
Aiming for my life,
He always said "Forgive me,"
It isn't his fault, I now see.

That is my brother's kind of love.

Telling me his history,
Making life a mystery,
Holding me in his arms,
Singing to me, keeping me from harm.

That is my father's kind of love.

Brushing my hair,
Treating me fair,
Saying, "I love you,"
Even though, it was only kinda true...

That is my mother's kind of love.

Protecting them to the death,
Loving them to last breath,
Being patient, kind and caring,
Feelings never wearing.

That is my kind of love.
All the different ways my family shows love.
